Location is a bit of a buzzword at LocateTV, not just because of our regional search features, but chiefly because our development office is based in Staines.
Our Middlesex enclave is much-maligned. The only way readers outside the UK would have ever heard about it is through Ali G and his ‘West Staines massive’. It may be a little grubby, a little, well, ‘local’, but it’s our grubby, local place. It deserves a break.
I found this blog which is positively evangelical about the place. There is apparently a campaign to rename it Staines on Thames, presumably to cultivate a sophisticated waterside atmosphere – a Ghetto Venice, if you will. Seems a little optimistic but I love the enthusiasm. Go and vote.
I want to make this blogger’s day and show him our company loyalty to our area so I’m off to use LocateTV to find out if anything has ever been filmed here. I’m sure I recognised some bits in Blood Diamond.
