Embeds, embeds everywhere

One of the ways in which we’re delighted to see web users embracing LocateTV in public beta is the uptake of embeds by fan sites based around specific shows and actors. We’ve always seen the embeds as a great strength of LocateTV, allowing bloggers and site owners to share content with their readers, be it as a permanent fixture on their sidebar or within a specific post relating to a particular actor or episode.

Just a couple of sites with an embed up as a permanent ‘next showing’ alert include The Prison Break Blog, a lively and extremely thorough multimedia fan site full of episode reviews, interviews and behind the scenes videos, and Trekdom (scroll to the bottom of the page), the essential destination for lovers of all things Trek, with forums, blog, archives and links.

Forums are a particularly good place for Locate embeds, as we often notice members posting queries about when shows and repeats are next on. Over in Digital Spy LocateTV has helped Jacquiann catch up on Kyle episodes, whilst the community on the Toppy.org PVR boards have been debating how to improve the embeds for use in posts and signatures.

All these sites provide a great opportunity to see how LocateTV embeds might work in your blog or forum, and they’re an ideal way to become a popular poster by helping others to find the TV and film content they want.
