We’re delighted with the feedback that we’ve received since LocateTV went into public beta. As the number of people searching for their favourite TV programmes, films and actors has greatly expanded both in the UK and US, the data on how they are using LocateTV, as well as emails and feedback sent through the site, [...]

Specialised TV and film search is certainly a growth market. With so much TV and film content out there and so many ways of watching it, it’s no wonder that companies are spotting an opportunity to help people navigate all the offerings to easily and quickly find what they want to watch.
But amongst all the [...]

The increase in people watching TV and film online is old and hackneyed news by now, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Jeffro 2pt0 has been blogging about whether the LocateTV team would team up with Joost, the upshot of which is: it’s not a priority with all the larger providers we have [...]

The LocateTV development team have been working as hard as Britney Spears’ nanny over the past few weeks, as you’ve hopefully noticed by the fantastic improvements in speed, search functionality and data coverage now that the site has gone into public beta. Another update from the world of region-specific, multi-media, TV and film searchorama.
The great news is that our triallists seem to love the new search page - it’s ironed out many of the problems people have had searching for their favourite shows and actors, and we’ve had some very positive comments.
Of course, we’ve noticed some less [...]

Shout it from the rooftops: the latest site updates are now live. In addition to the amendments in the change log there is a new (hidden) search page for you to use which is trialling our improved search function.
I almost want to put this whole post in bold, with lots of exclamation marks, but I’ll [...]

So, we have a compromise. Thanks to all the feedback from our private beta triallists we’ve come up with an embed design mark 2 which seems to accommodate the majority of the comments we’ve received: simpler, smaller and less prominently branded with darker colours. Of course it’s not perfect, and this isn’t the absolute finished [...]

It seems obvious that to produce a great service, you should begin by asking the people who are going to use it what they want.
This has always been one of our leading principles in evolving LocateTV, but in all honesty we did not realise quite how effective and even enjoyable a way of working it [...]
