Blog of the Week: NewTeeVee

NewTeeVeeFrom the all-powerful GigaOM stable comes a blog with a pedigree. Whilst previous holders of the prestigious BOTW title have been focused on discussion of film and TV content, NewTeeVee is in line with the technological commentary found on the rest of Om Malik’s web empire, being dedicated to how the internet is changing video.

The site claims that ‘we point readers to hot startups, hot videos, hot pipes – tracing the talent, money, code, and data across the network‘ and it certainly fulfils this promise, giving an international perspective on the latest from the technology and entertainment worlds.

Editor Liz Gannes is joined by a stable of well-known industry journalists, such as Steve Bryant (Hollywood Reporter, Reel Pop Blog) and Janko Roettgers (P2P Blog). The style is concise and crisp, focused more on information than opinion, which is entirely appropriate for a site keeping up with the fast-moving machinations around online TV. Chris Albrecht’s Vid-Biz posts are typical of the blog; snappy one-line roundups of industry news from around the web.

So, if this blog were a film, what would it be? The Professionals
