Blog of the Week: film ick

‘Blog of the Week’, you ask? Yes, our blog now has a ‘feature’ (whoop). Now that we’re in private beta, we’re collaborating with other TV, film and tech bloggers and posters in order to get feedback about exactly what they think about, and want from, the site as it moves towards launch. Our whole idea for this ‘feature’ (whoop whoop) is to have a big ole web love-in, letting you know about the people whose blogs we rate in the online TV and film community, and giving them a chance to share any LocateTV experiences or suggestions they have. 360 degree peer review, if you will. Encouraging open dialogue, one might say.

So, the inaugural honour falls to Brendon Connelly, creator of film ick.

film ick Established in February 2006 with over one million viewers since then, film ick is a clean, elegant site with just the right mix of breaking news and witty opinion. It’s the kind of blog that becomes a daily habit – easy to read and always up-to-date, with several posts each day and just the right relaxed tone without everything being too!over!excited!! Particularly strong features include quality links to new trailers and the Movie Minesweeper, concise snippets of the best gossip and news from the industry.

Moreover, Brendon himself is a thoroughly nice chap, as we know from meeting him at our LocateTV trial event in London last Wednesday. A filmmaker and lecturer from the dreaming spires of Oxford, Brendon is a man of tastes as erudite and eclectic as you would hope – equally likely to eat his popcorn in front of Toy Story 2 and La Regle du Jeu.

So, if this blog were a film, what would it be? Sideways.

Click to see LocateTV results for Sideways. Always up to date, always relevant to you.

Get in contact if you think you’d make a good triallist, and who knows… you could be our next blog of the week (whooop whoop…. OK, enough with the whoops already).
