Be Careful What You Demo
In the early days we had to demo the site to the project sponsors and other senior people before any results prioritization was implemented. It’s a pretty nerve-wracking process - exposing what had heretofore been our ‘baby’ to the cold eye of commercial scrutiny. Thankfully it seemed to be going really well - we’d all scrubbed up nicely (we are an office more prone to jeans than Armani suits!) and they seemed very impressed with our intro and overview of the clean, focused concept of LocateTV, and our ideas of how it would grow and develop.
Feeling pretty chipper, we moved onto the hands-on demo, and the first thing that sprung into my head to use as a search string was Desperate Housewives - topical and popular with lots of possible content. Errr… thinking that through a little more would have been a good idea. We all learnt more than we needed to know about the snap of rubber glove on naked flesh that day. Those producers of adult content get everywhere. Everyone saw the funny side of it, but I’m thinking next time we’ll use Star Trek (but then again there’s probably plenty of weird stuff about that too…the mind boggles…)

Yeh… my advice… steer clear of “Sex in the City” too!
